Accessibility

Accessibility statement

Accessibility is the whole point of IncluRegulate, not an afterthought. We build for students who experience the world differently, so the app is designed to work with the assistive technology and accommodations those students rely on.

Last reviewed: June 2026

Conformance target

  • Target standard: WCAG 2.2 Level AA as the floor, with Level AAA as the goal on student-facing flows.
  • Aligned with the U.S. Department of Justice ADA Title II web rule (28 CFR Part 35) and Section 508 expectations for educational technology.

What we support today

  • Full keyboard navigation, including a skip-to-content link and a visible focus ring on every interactive element.
  • Screen-reader labels on all controls; the crisis banner is announced assertively.
  • Touch targets of at least 48×48 px on student-facing controls.
  • Respects the operating-system “reduce motion” setting; the sensory-friendly profile keeps motion calm by design. The breathing pacer never flashes.
  • Body-sensation and energy check-ins use words, never emoji faces or facial-expression labels, more reliable for students with alexithymia.
  • Color is never the only signal; states use text and shape as well as color, and the palette stays low-saturation to reduce sensory load.
  • Adjustable color overlays for visual comfort.
  • Calming activities, the cool-down, and the crisis resources are always free and never behind a paywall.
  • Compatible with switch-scanning and dwell (eye-gaze / head-tracking) input, which reach this app as standard keyboard and pointer events.

Known limitations

  • Some longer informational pages (like this one) are text-dense; we are continuing to tune spacing and reading level.
  • Audio narration is being expanded to cover every activity.
